Biography
Professor Jonathan Bradbury is Associate Dean for Research, Innovation and Impact, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Swansea University. He is a member of the Steering Groups of the Wales Institute for Economic and Social Research and Data (WISERD) and the Wales Arts and Humanities Alliance (WAHA). He Chairs the Steering Groups of the Swansea University ESRC and AHRC Impact Acceleration Accounts. Since 2014 he has overseen subject, College and Faculty REF submissions. Since 2023 he has overseen the creation of Faculty Interdisciplinary Research Institutes and Networks, including the Network for Artificial Intelligence, the Arts, the Digital Economy and Society (NAIADIES) He is a Fellow of the Learned Society for Wales.
He is trained in History, Economic and Social History, Political Science and Public Policy. His main recent expertise has been is in the study of the role of devolved and local government in the government of the United Kingdon. He has convened or co-convened the UK Political Studies Association Territorial Politics Research Group since 1994; and was convenor of the PSA Annual Conference in 2008. He has extensive experience of research and teaching on the politics, economy and society of Wales, publishing papers on Wales in a wide range of journals including National Institute Economic Review, Public Money and Management, Regional and Federal Studies and Parliamentary Affairs. He is currently writing a book on Governance and Public Policy in Wales since Devolution for Bristol University Press.
