George is a research associate at the University of Sheffield. His research is focussed on applications of machine learning and physics-based approaches for the definition of digital twins. The main field of his research is structural dynamics, and structural health monitoring, but he has also been involved in projects about the use of deep learning for personalised healthcare. He completed his studies as a civil engineer at the National Technical University of Athens and did his PhD at the University of Sheffield as part of the DyVirt project of the Marie Curie institute. After completing his PhD, he started working for the Digitwin project as a research associate at the University of Sheffield. Throughout his time as a PhD student and a research associate, he has collaborated with various institutes, such as ETH Zurich, the Los Alamos National Laboratory and the Insigneo institute at the University of Sheffield.
